Saw remains of deer carcass
which Bob, Phil & I saw on June
24. Seemed to be v. fresh then -
many organs intact, now only a
few skin remnants and a
lower foreleg. Clear + warm all AM.
July 18 Lower colony 9:45 A.M. Small dam just
below main dam on SE shore shows
a lot of new work since yesterday
according to Jim Herleman. Path
from water's edge to 2" aspen
stumps still wet. Helped Jim
collect bottom sample from
pebbly bottom 50 yds above
main dam near SE shore. Left
11:30. Weather clear + hot. Rock-
July 21 Slide colony 10:30 A.M. Saw an 8" & a 9"
brown lurking in 3' water just in lee
of the big downed lipole about which
house is constructed. Bottom here is
