Hall 1956 3/10 Aug 27 Sage Hen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co, Calif. Upper to climb. Water very muddy by bank den near leaner "of scarbark" on my arrival 7:20 Beaver appeared in deadfall pond, cut willows, went over dam & into leaner bank den. Had a good look at his tail which definitely has no mark; a medium sized animal. This means there are at least 3 beaver here. 7:30 "no-mark" left den, floated, then went ashore near scarbark & ate some grass. then back to water, over 2 dams into main pond, over main pond dam 7:38. At 7:45 (I came up from below & entered bank den, but left immediately to go up over 2 more dams as I came down from above & entered den. I climbed down at 7:50 as I went over into main pond. Left colony 8/19. Aug 28 AM 12:10 and ran asp spoke samples A-C and also cutting tally for complete colony.
