Hall 1955 305 Aug 16 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co., Calif. Lower 6:35 PM arr. Shack lookout tree, heard drawing, saw ripples but no beaver. 6:50 ♀ hairy. 7:05 ad. beaver seen floating in main pond near dam, dove to reappear (or another beaver appeared) 7:20. St dove, surfaced with cut willow which he took into lodge. 7:40 bit came swim- ming up pond, circled several times, then dove & a splash. 7:48 four almost full grown mink worked down along N shore. First noticed them at shack. They swam across pond + rapid- ly disappeared over main dam in a strait follow the leader routine. 7:55 Beaver - notch tip tail cutting willow time trapped at Sta. 30 Below, map 298 in cove SE of lodge. 8:08 one down in the pond dives into lodge. Left 8:10; coyotes calling on hill on my way back. Aug 17 Arr about 7 PM in lower old tree. 7:05 an adult Upper whose tail not plainly visible, appeared in middle of pond and passed over the dam. About 25 min later one (presumably the same) came broke up over the dam & willow came into bank den at S end of pond. Still didn't get good look at its tail. 10 min. later one emerged from this den, swam over to shallows just beneath
