Might it have anything to do & killing last year's lack. ?? Birds seen: warb- lng vireo (two birds, wing-fluttering) fwd sp. Left 11:25. Weather hot & clear. At Spring yng Williamsens suckers almost on verge of leaving next & we checked R.B. Supunbas next hole nr. upper colony or way down to find everyone gone. Holiday. July 23 Cutting schedule (dry Dick's Yard): 10" true Aug 1 Donner Lake, 2 mi. W Truckee, Nevada Co., Calif. Wend of lake, S shore on property of Frank Darwinoy. Examined beaver cuttings of fir & asp on request. Good deal of asp cut at vicinity of entrance of creek on extreme W end of lake & some large firs (up to 2 foot) on Darinvoy's Property. These are big- ger than any firs cut around Sage Hen but only the basal bark was used as is the case & the smaller sizes. Aug 1 Trestle creek on way to upper colony has Upper all dried up.
