Hall 1955 286 July 6 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co, Calif. R'slide blasted dam gap & when in position I fired the camera. He barely flinched at the click of flash in marked contrast to reaction of the one I photographed this way in 1952 (see p. 74-5). He came on up the gap, turned & swam back and was joined by another and they both dove silently as summer approached. One surfaced & then dove. Waited until 9:05 to get another shot but no beaver came. Saw 2 sizes of bats, a couple of nighthawks and 1 doe just as I left. July 8 Lower 11 AM. Roadside looks like some more bear work on logs. Sheep have moved in to lower colony area to shuck colony.
