July 1 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co., Calif.
Upper A second later when he came over to
gnaw bark from the very tree in which
I was standing I could see the
two notches easily. Eventually ate
some willow, crossed up over the
dam into Jim's Oles pond and was lost.
July 2 Left 8:50 A.M. Ar. 10:30 to work on willow
Lower samples. Couldn't find middle stake
for sample A. Fox sparrows singing &
kingfishers rattling. Kingfishers also
at our camp earlier this A.M.
