May 22 Sogethen Creek 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co, Calif.
R'slide new maintenance but "slides" lead to
it and a scent pile is nearly. Fisherman reported seeing beaver swim into the

June 20 at Kiln Indw. Mosquitoes bad // Spent
most of day setting up camp for the 2 wives
R'slide + 3 children. In eve went to Rakeslido to
observe beaver ~ Hoffmann, Allan Sutton
& Pete Brussard. Hoffmann climbed
tree just below main dam, Pete & 2
climbed the one at Pond #4 (the old
faithful) and Al climbed one right
next to us. We got in place by 7:25.
Noticed a new scent mound on shore on
N side of channel opp. the island. 7:45
beaver came up N fork, over the crossing into
main pond. Got hasty glimpse of tail as
diving
he crossed and it appeared to have a
notch at far end: ( ). 8:05 reappeared
and swims around in pond. The notch on
the tail shows white borders (just
like a newly-notched tail does). Tail
also has a transverse mark: (-). This
may or may not be the one + only
