Noticed a new scent mound on shore on N side of channel opp. the island. 7:45 beaver came up N fork, over the crossing into main pond. Got hasty glimpse of tail as diving he crossed and it appeared to have a notch at far end: ( ). 8:05 reappeared and swims around in pond. The notch on the tail shows white borders (just like a newly-notched tail does). Tail also has a transverse mark: (-). This may or may not be the one + only
