Hall 1954 1955 256 Feb. 17 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co, California. Left Berkeley with Gard & Hoffmann 2:30 PM, arriving in Truckee 8:30 or so, visited Marge We Roth at Hospital, then drove out to Sage- hen road, parked the jeep and started hiking in at 10:25. Snow was firm enough to walk on without skis or snowshoes. Snow about a foot deep in most places, many spots bare. Arr. camp 11:10 & temp 11° F. Ray Allen Sr. & Jr. in cabin. Feb. 18 Temp 12° this morning. Left camp 9:30 to hike out to jeep, which I drove in to Hobart, hiked back to bridge where I turned off for the Lower Colonies. Arr. 12:10. My Dec '19 snowshoe tracks still visible as raised prints. The paint went thick so had to mark stumps in pencil.
