Sept 12 Sagehen Creek, 650ft, 3 mi NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co, Calif.
Upper really seem to be afraid of me. Called
more indignant. She came to within 2'
of me and remained there just floating
a couple of times. I left her floating
in front of the lodge and returned to camp.
Oct 14 All aspen have turned; some have lost
maincamp most of their leaves. Willow leaves yellow
& falling. Lots of chikares around,
much more obvious or abundant than
in summer. Chipmunks quite common.
Wipper at nest or side of the under-
water tank. Weather clear & cool.
Oct 15 Hot down to 24° by 6 this a.m. Cr. Rockslide

9:10. Lodge at main dam appears disheveled
& unkempt. No new logo added to it, a hole
is in the top. No stored food here or
at the lodge by my main als tree. How-
ever, the wet ground in vicinity of this
lodge, indicates it is still actively used.
No new work on this lodge either. Talked
new willow use on the samples laid out
in June & July. (entered on next page). 12:50
took color shot #34 of weir below sample C
at 2/10 expose. 12:55 took slug #35 of "reaction"
of willow stems to beaver cutting at
11/3 exp. Uncut stem is also in this picture
& does not show the green area although
