Checked traps to find two catches: a yearling (?) just above main dam and a larger one 2-yr old(?) at crossing of dam above dead- fall. Both sized as q. yearling marked: U A , 2-yr. old: U .Y Fur was clipped off on both in addition to tail-notching. Fur wasn't clipped to skin but down partway into the underfur. Cont. on willow samples Sample D's midpt is yellow painted stake 2 1/2' NE of snag N after setting 4 E painted "X". L left 5 PM shapes N D returned 7:15 to watch at seat while Bob Rypp watched from OBS tree farther down. saw no bea- ver thru head what sounded like cutting W of rocky slope. 8:00-8:10 saw 2pt buck and doe picking way along wgs of N shore.
