J.G.Hall 1954 214 Aug 7 Sagenen Creek, 6500ft, 3 mi.MW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co, Calif. U.colony Started willow samples w help of Drile Gard. Sample "A" is 20 ft. upstream from largest bridge log. The N & S stakes were set at the 25 ft. dis- tances. no beaver use at all on these two clumps 1:30 PM took two color shots at 25.6 of cutting from dead-fall roots. Sample B had no willow so left just one stake to mark location at foot of of gigantic lipole. Sample "C" (diagram on next page).S stake is a wooden stick near stump at end of rotting log. Set 4 Rodsslide traps and left at 5 PM. /Arr. upper OBS tree of Rodsslide 7:20 PM. Almo & Ellbert fishing in immediate vicinity. Almos reported one feeding about 7:05 & last night Elbert saw "scarbacks" above the upper lodge. 8:00 a beaver barely visible down in mid- dle section. Also one seen in main pond where Elbert's fishing & turns out to be scarback Floats about 25' above dam that dist- ance from Elbert. at 8:05 he went over
