J.G. Hall 1954 2/2 July 31 Sagehen Creek, 6500ft, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co., Calif. Aug 1. at this season of year // 9 AM. Checked the R'slide one trap which was empty. Started for lower colony arriving at Roadside 10:10. Kingfisher perched in dead tree in mid-colony. Heard Roadside another about where hiway crosses stream. Lower Sheep have been driven up stream recently (1-3 days) much sign. Arr. L. colony 10:30. Birds seen: Bluebirds, Downy, Pewee, ? Hummer (Callipe?) Creepers. Chickaree, chipmunks, ground squirrel & Bellings. 11:20 Color shot #15 of asp. stand at shack from S shore near 3 large l'p poles at 25 exp. 11:25 shot #16 of asp. stand just up from shack from asp log felled across the stream at 25 exp. Cf view from sta 2 taken last Sept 9 & they are not enough & now to warrant taking till about that time this fall. New dam is going up a little above where big snag was pushed down on S. side. Color shot of it #17 at 12:05, exp. 27. Cf. scene from burnt snag near sta #18 taken on Sept 9 & present condn. & tho' some interesting & are There, they'd wait till Sept. 2:30 Foot shot of two fir stumps at 135 exp. to show method of cutting. 2:50 shot of fir slung & tree to show same, exp 235.
