July 18 Sagehen Creek, 6500ft, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills Nevada Co, Calif.
L. colony At shack "colony", the stream, which had been diverted from main channel to run between the shack and the log cabin, is now dry. This has been caused by raising level of the N end of the dam originally causing the diversion. Now all the flow goes back into the main channel. 10:35 Pair of warbling vireos scolding and insect-hunting at shack.
10:55 Pewee sitting on nest on dead limb of lodgepole 10 or 11' above water and about 7' out from trunk of tree. This is just down from sta. Z. Much concentrated cutting on the slope N of the main pond, higher than my camp on the old RR tracks. Fire being hit heavily again in New section S side.
