R'slide Thought occurred to me that late fall until early spring would be the best time for taking willow samples since, without leaves to observe things the cut stumps could be more easily seen & painted. Willow sample F & G

Sample F originally had a lot of willow which is now 90% dead.
At might be a good idea to take periodic photos of each willow sample to show difference between meat availability among various colonies.

6 PM. Set one trap at pond dry pt. #18 and it went off about 8:30 according to fisherman, catching a fair-sized beaver.
