J.G.Hall 1954 186 June 14 Wyman Creek, 6750', White Mts, Inyo Co., Calif. Myotis flying about. Poor Wills calling occasionally. Slopes just covered with deer tracks. Full moon. Set out 30 traps: 10 in sage, 10 on rocky slope, 10 on sand & in road. June 15 Checked traps to find 19 P. maniculatus + one possible P. erimithus. Hiked up-stream for about 2 mi. from 6 till 11. Broad-tail hummingers common. Towhees also. Saw b.h. grosbeaks, gnatcatchers (also common), Tolmie warblers, lark-spadees, Steller jays, warbling vireos, fox sparrows crossbills, Empidonax & Pewees. Shot a Steller Jay & food in its mouth (insects), 2 gnatcatchers and a spotted towhee. Also a Tolmie + a vireo-sized bird, neither of which I could find. Weather hot & clear & occasional breezes. Lizards everywhere. Shot only 1, a Sceloporus. After supper set 26 traps in rocks almost exclusively. Went for walk & Frank up road at dusk. Saw a few jackrabbits and some desert sparrows but & a few bats. Very windy. Raked down to gorge which begins about 1/2 mi. below camp. It is quite Checked traps + got 1 Perognathus + 2 many mice June 16
