June 9 Roberts Ranch, 8200ft, Wyman Canyon, White Mts., Inyo Co.,
Calif. Pond and as far as the next
meadow which I crossed. Very dense
almost impenetrable willow + rose
thickets where beaver have been
working. Saw some fresh deer
tracks in the mud. Seen: Tolmie
warbler, Audubon warbler, song sparr-
own, white-crowned sparrow (shot),
juneo (shot), Steller jay, Bewee, Emp-
idonase, violet-green and barn
swallows(2) at pond. Weather very
raw and cold all day with an
honest to Rock snow storm during the
afternoon, clearing skies toward
June 10 supper and very cold. 5:45 A.M.
went about 2 mile down the road to
Frank & shot 2 fox sparrow, a spot-
ted towhee and a warbling vireo. Saw
the usual birds and a sapsucker
as well and a couple of House
wrens in song. Back by 9. In
eve set 14 of the 38 traps on the
salus slope E of camp, baited
the other 24 where they were. This
String is now almost all set
in Rocky sites. Weather was
Cylul + calm all day.
