J.G. Hall 1954 18 June 7 Roberts Ranch, 8200 ft., White Mts., Inyo Co., California flurry of snow from down canyon. Overcast rest of day and a much warmer night than previous one. Poor willis and saw-whet June 8 owls out in evening. After bfast checked traps & found 18 Peromysus and 1 microtus in the first string of 19 traps; 3 Peromysus in second string of 19. 6:30 A.M. started hunt- ing on W side of pond & around the banks of willows & up into a stand of birch close by. Seen: warbling vireo, song sparrow, white-crowned sparrow, fox sparrow, Bewee, Emp. idonax, Tolmie warbler, chickadee, violet-green swallow. Shot the last 3 species. Also saw green-tailed tow- hee and robin. There were snow flurries in afternoon but they cleared by evening. Cold night. At dusk I shot a young saw-whet owl. Re June 9 set traps, 19 on rocky slope. After bfast checked traps to find 29 mice out of 38 traps. Many were half eaten. 1 was microtus, 1 P. truei, 1 P. crin- itus, the rest P. maniculatus. At 6 I hunted down road past
