J.G. Hall 1954 Catalogue 172 31 May Indian Creek, 7400 ft., White Mts, Esmeralda Co., Nevada. Left about 9 to start skinning. Took photos of camp + Pinon Pine from slope SE of Camp and then skinned. About noon caught yng. Neotoma lepida in food box. Weather today has been cloudy bright and windy. At sunset we noticed two birds of about crow size harassing a golden eagle out over the Fish Lake Valley. 1 June Lake Valley. At 6 I started up the road above post meadow about a mile from camp. Stuck fairly close to willow thickets but going into clumps of pinon occasionally. The whole area seemed much quieter this morning than on previous ones. Black-headed grosbeaks, robins, spotted & green-tailed towhees, Mt. Cladea ducks, Oregon juncos, spil. warblers and an unk. warblers were seen here. Crossbills flying overhead one and a mourning dove called from the rocky N. hillside. Saw bird-tailed hummingers. On way back about 8:30 got a Uta stansburiana roared several Sceloporus. In willow swamp heard + saw jays, shot a pewee and a house wren. Back
