J.G.Hall 1954 169 29 May Indian Creek, 7400ft., White Mts, Esmeralda Co, Nevada we stopped at McNeil's Ranch. Saw about 4 or 5 cedar waxwings here and a couple of Bullock's Orioles. Pitched our camp in S end of Post meadow at about 7400ft. Vegetation here similar to that in Trail except that there is consid- erable more open meadow and sev- eral "swamps" of very large willow in which one can walk without get- ting hopelessly entangled in Rose. Plenty of rose also, however in other sections. Set 10 traps in early eve in sage st along stream just up from camp. later we all tried to get a poorwill which was calling sporad- ically. First noticed presence when one lit like a big moth in a bare area about 45' from our camp fire. The calling was not persistent, however, and we had no luck shining. 30 May Caught 5 Peromyscus m. sonor- ensis and 1 Poor-Will! The poor will, caught in the trap set nearest our camp, alongside the stream, was found lying or rest- ing on the ground about 3 ft.
