Sagehen Creek, Nevada Co., Calif.
21 June upstream, turning south to fol-
low what seemed to be the main
flow, though many tribs join in
& with the dense growth & split
channels of main stream, make
it a tough decision. Lots of aspen in
very stick stands, but not con-
centrated on stream borders. More
fir than below, some tremendous
cleanothus.
Upsols of much more clingomapsin.
Wonder if beaver would work up
this high clingomapsin got so
thick that we started back about

way back instead of the stream. It
turns into abandoned RR bed after
a while. Clisumps in amongst
the ties. Redtail soaring way north
over top of the ridge. Saw + heard
warbling vireo (we think). At trestle
where RR swings away in North to
cross a trib I cut south following the
trib to the sheep-shed meadow, Betty
followed ties & we met a little East of
the meadow. Got back about 4:20.
Weather in AM was hazy, gradually
clearing up by noon & continuing
