Took shot #19 of mid colony from top of marmot rock 2 & esp. Asp. Sample C: from stake on shore oppo- site sta #23, upslope to stake in briar brush on edge of asp. limit 25' W of 15" pine. Left 3:30 PM. Roadside colony 9:10am Oct. 4 Roadside colony Weather cold (40°), hazy. Commotion in some pools just below the first dam & downhill from stump of log where camera was cached. Saw two 10" trout (browns) chasing in and around this pool whose bottom is silt-covered. Next to clump of sedges was a circular area of gravel which had evidently been fanned free of silt
