Hall 1953 142 Sept 6 SageHen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co., Calip. L. Colony 7:30 AM. Checked traps & all Jones & Willis found who'd arrived late the night before and found a "1 yr old" in the lower trap. Tried 2cc. sodi- um anhydral but this had little effect. Putting barracks bag over head seemed to calm it as much as anything. "Sexed" it & als & Whitch help & thinks it was a q. Marked it w a safety pin in nape of neck and by punching "D" web. Photographed it & re- leased it about 8:45 AM. A 2" asp has been cut uphill from my camp and is about 200' from shore. The new lodge going up way upstream from main lodge is now slightly higher than the topmost of the two logs back of it. On Aug 25 this was only about half its present height.
