6PM Robin-size grosbeak (Pine)
lits in l.pole 15' away & began to
sing doo-de, dit-doo, etc. Head and
breast rosy, rump pink, rest of body
grayish. Bill large. 8 PM, coyotes howling
across creek & down a little. Had set traps
earlier but checked them after dark.
Aug 28 caught nothing. Said out aspen sampling
strips most of day. In afternoon took two
photos from a rock just downslope from the
large node at the NW corner of the rocky
slope where so much cutting has
occurred. One shot, E, of the cutting
and one, SE, of the willows. 3 PM
took sample A: upslope from house asp &
sub marked A

Quit at 5 PM. Wind high all day; weather
threatening. Set traps 6 PM at small dam
