Marking chart D X 1 || 2 IIII 3 IIIII 4 IHIH II 5 || 6 || 7 I 8 I 2 afternoon mapped in detail. 6PM Robin-size grosbeak (Pine) lits in l.pole 15' away & began to sing doo-de, dit-doo, etc. Head and breast rosy, rump pink, rest of body grayish. Bill large. 8 PM, coyotes howling across creek & down a little. Had set traps earlier but checked them after dark. Aug 28 caught nothing. Said out aspen sampling strips most of day. In afternoon took two photos from a rock just downslope from the large node at the NW corner of the rocky slope where so much cutting has occurred.
