J.G. Hall 1953 129 Aug 11 Sazchen Creek, 3mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co., Calif. flying 3 or 4" above surface but gave up when insect swam away. I didn't realize they could forgo on insects unless they were either on the surface or sinking. Lots of small brookies in every pool. The dams opposite the cutting area just loaded w/ fresh asp logs. Couple of fresh fir cuttings, only basal bark ehewed. Dam just below scabark fresh- ly maintained on S side of pond. No new cuttings on flash tree or main dams but they seem in good condition.
