J.G. Hall 1953 127 Aug 8 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co., Calif. nearly as far along as the one upstream built along the deadfall. Arrived at U. Rockslide about 11:30 and spent rest of afternoon sketching in details on map. Flickers heard + I saw a weasel at 5 running along the steep bank be- tween Sta O & 35. Had black tip to tail and chirruped to itself a couple of times. Set traps before leaving and re- turned to check them at 9:30, No luck. Aug 10 Main camp 8:25 AM. Coyote heard yap- ping about at edge of timber SE end of meadow. Rockslide colony 9 AM. Painted traps brown but it's got too much red in it. Adult pewees feeding young which are out of nest + can fly now. 10:25 took photo of Upper Rockslide from Station "I" 100sec t/11 azi- muth approximately 281°; film #1 in pack. 10:50 AM took #2 &3 from about 60' up in new ob- servation tree same exposure Set traps + checked them at 10. It's warmed up + I toyed w idea of leaving traps set all night but didn't. Aug 11 Upper colony 10:20 AM. Saw 2 bluebirds on way up, also lots of grasshoppers. Sheep have been thru recently & the Wy- etnia shows it. A low dam has ap-
