J.G.Hall 1953 96 June 22 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co, Calif. 15 min. Good light for photos this time of day. A very good look at Olive-sided flycatcher - note chid-it or chee-dit almost slurred into one syllable. Also a creeper. Reached roadside colony proper at 3. About 90% of the aspen on the SW side has been cut. The house seen here last year is in fair- ly good shape as is the dam im- mediately below it but lacks any new material on top. Warbling vireo & hairy woodp. in vicinity of pond. 40 yds downstream from this house is a second, newer house covered w mud, some of it wet, as well as with new willow twigs some w leaves. This has been built since my last visit here, but the dam immediately below it was here then. It's seriously in active use and on the SW shore directly opposite is one of the few really fresh cuttings - (on this shore) - a 8" aspen with fresh leaves still on it, cut possibly within 3 or 4 days or even less. Already partly trimmed above 4" level
