J. G. Hall 1952 83 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co., Calif. Oct. 12 well & recently plastered as were the others. Water levels up in all ponds. Went down as far as lower dam but saw nothing new. Fresh mud & old mud piled up in 2 places at edge of N. chan- nel?? Weather warm & bright. I left 10:35 after seeing another nutcracker fly over the bridge. Upper colony Nov. 23 10:45 AM. clear, cold (20° F.) SW wind. About 15" of snow. Pond completely frozen over and stream frozen over about half-way - a mere trickle. House covered with 6" of snow ex- cept on S side which is bare. Exten- sive plastering visible. Top of home has 3" snow. Mink or marten tracks on snow covering the ice. Not much new cutting on a large scale at least but a good deal more trimming of the fallen Fisherman's tree has taken place since the snow, as there are many fresh chips on the snow. The beaver probably get out from under the ice right above the dam where it is thinnest. Scar-bark has much new work on it. The 13"er started last Sept.
