J.G. Hall 1952 70 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi.NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co., California Aug 24 and then went back to the willows. Aug 25 I left at 8:12. Started surveying 7:30 AM. 9:10 dull colored Aud. warbler just N of road in aspens & pines. Some new cutting on the rocky slope near sta. 24 and lots of new cutting on a very large aspen near sta. 23. This had been at least partially girdled before. Started for upper colony 10:45 AM Aug 30 weather warm & light breeze. Juncoes abundant in pines and seem to be flocking. Several bluebirds among tips in teilmeadow. Picket juncos abundant on meadow but don't sit up or call as much as they did earlier in the season, just run for burrows when alarmed. Got to upper colony 11:30. Tree near sta. 23 shows no more work. Surveyed till 3:20. Another area of fresh cuttings found new sta. 25. 2 dislodged two trees. More fresh cutting below where I dislodged that first tree which has been cut up + completely re- moved except for basal 10'. A good many new slides worked into lower dam. Lots of mud (some still wet) plastered on W side of house. By the
