J.G.Hall 1952 66 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co, California Aug 17 One reappears immediately at the path then swims downstream and stops. 7:56 one beaver appears at spit, goes down to bridge cove while another appears below little red and swims up to spit & be- yond. The one from the path goes down to the channel dam. The one at bridge cove swims up to dive at spit. Now one from the house goes to the deadfall and one is heard working at path. Mean- while the one at the deadfall just floats there. 7:59 one appears at spit, then dives and the floater also goes back to the house & dives. The beaver at the path is floating while another beaver appearing at spit goes down & dives opposite bridge cove, sur- faces at little red, swims down toward main dam, dives again, surfacing just above the main dam. 8:01 a beaver seen at path, taking to the water, another one at spit goes down to little red but turns to swim back upstream as does the beaver that was down by the main dam. This one dives below spit. 8:03 Beaver seen at W side of dead- fall; it swims up between ends of blasted
