J.G. Hall 1952 63 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co., Calif. Aug 17 dam and another one is cutting just below channel dam. First one gets down to mud shelf & disappears; now both are out of sight. 7:24 one appears at spit, goes down to bridge cove and cuts short willows while it returns to spit & dives. I assume all animals appearing & disappearing at the spit have come from or gone to the lodge. 7:26 a yearling (?) appear at deadfall, swims to shore, then turns around and goes up canal at end of deadfall, cuts & takes cutting to feeding spot near dead fall used the other night. 7:29 kit appears from house, swims to where other beaver is feeding & seems to be working at its cutting. 7:30 larger one goes back up canal leaving kit by deadfall. 7:32 large one lands just W of house & cuts willow, kit follows immediately and swims near shore but doesn't land. (Ripples & willow movement at corner of snag island). Big one is now eating on land and the kit joins it, gets a mouthful which it takes to eat in
