J.G. Hall 1952 47 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills Nevada Co, Calif. Aug 3 8:18 med. size beaver swam from way down fork, part way up but was lost in a cove. 8:19 more beaver ripples farther up cove but couldn't see the beaver. 8:22 one swam underwater in main pond. Left 8:30 PM. Aug 4 Main stream about half way between main camp & Rockslide colonies, just opposite the up- per limit of the bare area of the N hillslope. 1:50 PM. On S side some old aspen cuttings + some of this last winter judg-ing by sprouts. Beaver house (?) by huge fallen log. Lots of last winter's cuttings on S side of U. Rockslide colony. L. Rockslide colony 2:30 PM. 1' aspen log freely peeled + lying on bottom at en- trance to house. Bottom log at entrance so muddy we thought beavers must have been just entering so we climbed tree to watch until 2:55. No action so we came down & triangulated & Brunton. Down in lower end of
