J.G.Hall 1952 42 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, Nevada Co., Calif. Aug 1 Upper colony 3 PM. Many new sticks piled up at submerged edge of house since last visit (July 26). "Photo" tree which is lodged has been cut further, now leaving only a 1½" core still supporting it. "Flash" tree has been cut into further. weather threatening Aug 2 3:30 PM, Arrived 3 PM at lower limit of study area on N shore. A 7" asp. cut + lodged 20 yds below flash tree. New work but representing at least 2 different sessions be- cause of variations in freshness of chips. Flash tree shows no add- itional work. A good deal of new cutting near "symmetrical "L" pole next to shore; short branches trim- med from felled trees.
