Rent "Dodge Dart" (vw bus was not available) and drive into Monterrey (about 15 km west of the airport). 2230 check into hotel (Hol-Rey) in downtown Monterrey. The hotel is a hole. ($16 for 2 beds.) We have a couple beers nearby, then retire, 2400. Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. 29 June 0645 arise and checkout (after a very hot evening). Eat breakfast the wait around for banks, stores, etc. to open. 0900 exchange money ($1 us = $22.65 pesos). then we bought necessary articles at a nearby "super-mercado" and headed for Union Carbide Mexicana which we had passed going from the airport into town last evening. When we arrived at Union Carbide, we found that we were at the wrong plant. A very kind woman gave us directions (over the phone from the gate guard-house) to the Union Carbide Mexicana Division Linde plant (see map next page). We drove to the plant and had not no trouble getting the 10 liters of L N2 needed to fill the LR10 cylinder.
