Journal Hafner, M.S. 1978 SW of Shoshone, White Pine Co., Nevada. September 11 (edit) disturbance of the area by man had resulted in the sand accumulation. We decided not to set traps here, but to search for more natural dunes. to Baker Majors Place to Ely N Hwy 93 Shoshone Snake Mtus. sand dune area. We continued South for a mile or two until the road split into one road to the south and one west. We drove west toward some dunes we could see in the distance. We stopped ca. 1500 and carried 180 traps over to the dunes (about 1 mile away). When we arrived at the dunes, we noticed that a road entered from the SW -- this would save us from carrying the traps back out. We set the traps in the five sandy areas. Comfortable, sunny afternoon. 1600 we departed the area and hit Hwy 93 back
