Journal Hafner, M.S. 1978 Vicinity Owyhee, Elko Co., Nevada. 10 September (cont) We headed west and north on a dirt- gravel road which was supposed to take us to a known Micro locality in SW Idaho. We only made it about 3-4 miles before the road became too muddy to negotiate. We stopped amidst a heavy hail shower and ate lunch. Hwy 51 Hills swamp to trap site IDAHO NEVADA To Owyhee (4-5 miles). We decided to return here another (drier) time with a 4-wheel driver vehicle. We declared this area ca. 1400 hrs. and drove back into Elko. The mountains S of Owyhee in the Humboldt Nat. Forest are extremely beautiful. We set out 240 traps again at the locality 5 mi. west of Hallett. After dinner we drove into Elko and gambled awhile. 2200 retired.
