Journal Harner, M.S. 1978 13 mi. S. Contact, Elko Co., Nevada. 10 September began about 4 AM and continued on-and- off until about mid-morning. We woke up about 7 AM and checked the traps in the rain and blowing wind. Results: 1 Onychomys leucogaster (kept) We were very pleased to have captured 2 Micro's at this locality. As usual, they in the very last traps checked. 0900 we drove back through Wells and headed west to the Halleck locality. 5 mi. W. Halleck, Elko Co., Nevada. Results: 1 Onychomys leucogaster (kept) We continued west to Elko where we bought supplies then headed north on Hwy 51. We drove through intermittent rain to the Idaho border. The clouds were now only thunderheads — no longer cumulus.
