Hafner, M.S.
1978
San Jose, Costa Rica
10 July Had a room call @ 5:15 AM. Drove to check the traps.
Results:
1 km. S Tres Rios, Cartago Prov., Costa Rica.
1 Heteronups
+ several small cricketids (released).
The Heteronup was an adult male (scutal)!
We returned to the Hotel in San Jose,
where Jct Karystyped the Heteronup while
I made reservations for our flight out.
I also began the procedure for an export
visa for the skins.
1130 we quickly checked-out of the Hotel,
drove to the Agriculture Ministry, picked-
up the export permit, then rushed to
the airport. We just caught our
LACSA flight -- had trouble with
customs (re. our pre-Colombian pots).
They kept our larger pots; We managed
to keep the smaller ones.
The LACSA flight stopped in Nicaragua,
then on to Mexico City. We decided
that the stay in Mexico would not
yield any important specimens, so we
continued home via Houston, Dallas -> S.F.
