on the moderately sloped banks facing to the south and east. Most of the fresh activity is either in the short (< .3m) grasses or low cane fields.
We stayed around this locality until about 1630. The fog was settling-in and the wind (which was blowing all day) was getting rather chilly. We drove back toward Cartago and set out 55 sherman traps (48 small, 7 large) along a creek side in hopes of catching heteromyps.
The vegetation was mostly native ... lots of bromeliads covering the trees. - dense vines everywhere. We drove into town, bought a few more supplies (+ beer) and drove back to the creek locality. We slept here for the night - Much disturbance from people parking nearby, horns honking etc... Cool, overcast night.
