We were treated very nicely at the permit
office and told to return at 1100 for our permit.
We would then be required to return after
collecting to obtain an export permit for the
specimens.
We next went to a "Supermercado" where
we bought supplies - again, the expenses
were much higher than we expected. While
I exchanged money, John went to the U.S.
Embassy (nearby) and got directions to the
place where we could get liquid nitrogen.

We had no problem getting the N2 (cost
was 6 colones (=$.50) per liter). We returned to
the Centro area where we bought some small
gifts (silver spoon for mom and 2 coffee bean
