We would then be required to return after collecting to obtain an export permit for the specimens. We next went to a "Supermercado" where we bought supplies - again, the expenses were much higher than we expected. While I exchanged money, John went to the U.S. Embassy (nearby) and got directions to the place where we could get liquid nitrogen. The address for liquid nitrogen is: Bodega Gases Industriales Calle 6 y Avenida 14. San Jose, Costa Rica. We had no problem getting the N2 (cost was 6 colones (=$.50) per liter). We returned to the Centro area where we bought some small gifts (silver spoon for mom and 2 coffee bean necklaces for Patti and Darcey). 1100 we went
