Journal Haflner, M.S. 1978 7 mi. S., 4 mi E Willard, Torrance Co., New Mexico. 11 June David Hafner and I departed Albuquerque at 0800 and stopped at the University to pick-up extra Macabee traps. We then drove east on Hwy 40 to Moriarty where we turned south on Hwy 41. We drove through Willard, then turned S on Hwy 42. Our hopes were to find Geomys bursarius at an old locality near Mesa Jumanes (Cibola Natl. Forest). We noted gopher diggings along the road-cut at the above locality and we stopped and set out 7 sets as below.
