Journal Hafner, M.S. 1978 En Route: Mich.: Patzcuaro to Vicinity Toluca, D.F., Mex. and Zitacuarro- to Toluca (Distrito Federal), 29 March (cont) We found a small restaurant and had a fairly nice meal. Drove out of town toward Volcan Tolucan and parked in a grove of pine trees (ca. 18 km. S Toluca). 1200 went to bed - very cool evening. Clear. En Route: Toluca to Mexico City, D.F., Mexico, 30 March 0700 awoke, (after a very cold night) and repacked our supplies for the trip home. 0900 drove into Toluca, had breakfast and drove to Mexico City. 1200-3 1430 toured the Museo Nacional de Antropologia, after which we relaxed on the lawn in the nearby park. This has been a successful trip - we got the Zygogonyp male that I needed; the Orthogonyp male (+ tissue, blood etc.) and fresh Liomys pictus tissue and blood. Pleasant weather and no major mishaps - couldn't ask for a better trip. The flight home was somewhat rough - thundershowers over L.A. We arrived in L.A. around 12:30 AM. Drove north via Hwy 5 - Arrived home 0600. Rain in the bay area - what a change from Mexico!
