Journal Hafner, M.S. 1978 27 March (cont) 6 km. (by road) S Tacámbaro, Michoacán, México. a distance of 6 km. before pulling over and setting 100 sherman traps along a fairly steep hillside facing to the sw. The vegetation was natural for the most part with occasional cane plants. There were occasional rocky outcroppings amidst thorn- scrub vegetation. The brush became more dense toward the lower parts of the hillside. The level land at the top was plowed and unplanted - it was usually planted in cane. 2130 we finished setting traps and drove back into Tacámbaro for dinner; had a very nice meal of bistek con papas after which we headed back to camp near our trap site. 2230 retired very tired after a long day's drive. 6 km (by road) S Tacámbaro, Michoacán, México. 28 March 0630 awoke and walked to check traps: Results: 2 Lionyx pictus 1 Baiomys sp. 1 Peromyscus sp.
