26 March cont fresh gopher systems. We set out 5 sets in this field again using all pedal traps (and used the system diagramed on the previous page).

1300 we returned to town and rested in the plaza
of a few hours waiting for the traps to work.
1600 after buying some cucumbers to eat, we
drove back to check the traps. The set at
the far locality (12 km. NE Arteaga) was plugged
just before the trap - the trap was untouched.
We reset this trap and drove to the closer
locality... no activity. We drove into Arteaga
and had a very nice dinner of Bistek con
frijoles, etc. - 25 pesos (= $1.15 US)... 1830 drove to
recheck traps. No activity at either site.
