The same gopher set-off 2 pedal traps without being caught. We pulled all of the traps and headed SW for la Mira and Playa Azul. We figured that the Orthogeomys would be more numerous there. Although the drive was only about 45 miles, it seemed to take about 2 hours to reach la Mira. The habitat all the way was dry thorn-scrub desert.
