and they were tucked beneath (dorsal to) the pubic bones (see fig. on previous page). This is somewhat unusual as I remember.
1730 we walked into Apo where we had a nice dinner of huevos, frijoles, and tortillas (and, of course, beer). The dinner cost about 14 pesos each (= 60¢ U.S.). We returned to camp and rechecked traps - no captures.
While in town, we saw some youngsters running around with masks on carrying sticks and clubs - apparently they were involved in some festivities associated with the Easter holidays.
We retired 2100, again a cool, breezy evening. We will pull traps tomorrow and head for Orthogeomys country. We now have the adult ♂ Zygogeomys we were after.

0630 awoke and checked traps - no captures. I photographed some Zygogeomys mounds and we measured the height and width of 20 mounds, plus the diameter
