8 October 0630 awoke before sunrise. Calm morning, few
high clouds; cool - ca. 60° F.
Checked traps with following results:

Success = 35/300 ≈ 12%
0730 ate breakfast, rather disappointed with
the low diversity. 0830 slight breeze picked-up.
(from west). Scattered high clouds.
Spent the warm day walking around. We
searched for the gopher population that
had existed for several years in the hills
to the S; none were there.
1500 decided to change our locality for
trapping, so drove to Trona Road then
turned S. Went in to Randsburg for supplies.
