Finally, a long running "leap" allowed us to clear the bank. We checked set (2) = No captures Success = 0/50 Set (3) (grass jungle) Results = 2 Peromyscus sp. (released) 1 Heteromys sp. Success: 3/50 The animals were all captured on or near rocky outcroppings just along the edge of the native forest. Results: Set (4): 2 Oryzomys palustris Success: 2/50 We were pleased to at least have captured 1 Heteromys specimen. We next packed-up and drove just south of Motzorongo where we noted Heterogeomys diggings to the west of the road. We each set out 5 sets apiece and waited until 1300 for results: no captures . 2 of my sets had activity, one animal set-off a Cinch Trap, but got away. We decided
