Journal Hafner, M.S. 1977 3.5 km. N, 1.5 km. W Motzorong, Veracruz, 370m, Mexico. 11 August (cont) and several types of monocot grasses (and vines, too). Many of the traps we placed near the trees and bushes of a ravine passing through the center of the grassy area (= set ①). It was quite dark as we finished setting traps. We washed up at the river, noting many fireflies in the area. The air was extremely humid making out work quite uncomfortable. We drove into Motzorong, had 2 beers and drove back to set ① where we slept beneath the bromeliad covered coffee trees near the roadway. Heavy rains through the night. Warm and humid. 3.5 km. N, 1.5 km. W Motzorong, Veracruz, 370m. Mexico. 12 August 600 awoke and checked set ①: Results: set ① = 1 Oryzomys palustris Success: 1/50 We had a difficult time getting out of the coffee grove and back onto the main road.
