Journal Hafner, H.S. 1977 Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. 3 August (cont) use as far as directions were concerned. Of course, by this hour the "Argon Gas Co." was closed for business; they told us to return in the morning. We drove to another section of town, had a nice dinner, then drove a few miles back out of town (as we had come in) and pulled over at the roadside. We skinned animals until well after dark and only later realized that 3 of the 4 live animals from today's trapping had died - probably of heat (as we had them between the front seats on the floor, just behind the engine). We were quite disappointed as 1 of those that died was a O (nice for karyotyping) and the sole survivor was a F from the higher elevation locality of yesterday. Slept well through a comfortable night. Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. 4 August Awoke 0630, put up several skins before driving into Naucalpan to get the liquid N2. After a light breakfast we returned to our pull-out west of Naucalpan and finished proceed processing the gophers from yesterday. We karyotyped our last surviving specimen, so as not to risk it dying. The sun
