Sinaloa, México. has a shorter (relative and absolute), more quickly tapering tail and has a distinctly different shaped tragus. left ear: [drawings] larger form (MSH 894♂) smaller form (MSH 895♀) more pointed tragus We anxiously await the karyotypes of both the gophers and the pocket mice. 2000 drove to the beach drive for dinner - had a very nice abalone dinner in an outdoor café. 2200 retired. JCT put-up the gopher this PM, lightning visible to the east. Sliver-of-a-moon, Mazatlán, Sinaloa, México. 20 July 0600 awoke and prepared animals. Packed-up dried specimens. We stained and mounted several slides, but the microscope would not function properly. We'll probably have to wait until we're back at MIZ. 1400 packed-up and departed Mazatlán.
